Gruga Veid Brakil (グルガ・ヴェイド・ブラキール Guruga Vu~eido Burakiiru), also called Gelga Veid Blacheel in the English localization of Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, is a human warrior and one of the playable units in Arc The Lad II. Born in the country of Brakia, Gruga was the leader on the Brakian side of the War for Independence between it and the country of Niedel, fighting alongside his partners, Ginba and Darla. Although he lead his country to victory, Gruga would suffer from survivor's guilt and took personal responsibility for the lives lost during the war, not being able to forgive himself. It was during this time of turmoil that Gruga would discover a blind war orphan named Elena and adopted her as his own. After the war, he would continue to raise Elena and moved to Clenia to fight within its arena to raise enough money for an operation to restore Elena's eyesight. It was here that he first met Shante, and would become involved in the battle against Romalia.
After The Great Disaster, Gruga and Elena would move to Paltos, where he would serve as Chairman Commitee to the Paltos Arena as he continued to raise Elena, now a preteen. Here, Gruga is more calm and collected, although worrying intensely over Elena after hearing she has a boyfriend. In Arc The Lad R's timeline, hoping for a peaceful life, Gruga would seperate from his allies and continue living in Brakia with Elena. However, after hearing about the Aldian Empire from Halt and Mizuha, would help by gathering information by posing as the masked wrestler, Mask de G (マスク・ド・G Masuku Do G).

After his death, a statue of Gruga would be erected and placed within the Paltos Arena. This statue also reveals that Gruga would return to fighting in Clenia for a bit before retiring and starting his own martial arts school. This statue, albiet destroyed heavily, continues to stay up in Rueloon after the Deimos invasion of Paltos.
