Paundit

Pandit (パンディット Panditto) is the tame Rabid Dog monster companion and guardian of Lieza, and the third playable unit in Arc The Lad II. Found by a child Lieza when he was a pup in Holn with a bleeding leg in the fields outside her village, she took him in and ever since then they have always been together. Due to her status as a Beasttalker, she is able to understand him and talks to him regularly, being the only person he doesn't growl at. He would continue to stay by her side, even when she was taken to the Chimera Research Lab within White House, and protected her while she was in Romalian capture, eventually meeting Elc, who he would later become comfortable with.

Paundit would continue to stay by Lieza's side, staying with her on her ranch in Forestamore in Arc The Lad III, and later appearing as a playable unit in Arc The Lad R, although he doesn't appear in the main story.

Personality & Traits

Though Pandit is actually very gentle and quite intelligent, he is very protective of Lieza, growling and attacking anyone who harms her.

Skills and Abilities

Paundit is notably, the only monster that cannot be released in the game, due to being the pet of Lieza. Although good at the start with his buffing abilities, eventually, Paundit becomes outclassed around the time Shante and Gruga join, not helped in part that he cannot equip any armor and can only use bite and punch weapons. However, Paundit can evolve at Mother Claire's, and can also learn new spells and abilities in his normal form. If evolved into the Werewolf class of monsters, Paundit can equip flail and swords. Despite this however, Paundit still is outclassed even by several other monsters, and is only recommended for the beginning or if you want a challenge.

Trivia

• It is also very likely that despite several wolves of Paundit's species survived 1,000 years after Arc the Lad III, Rabid Dog's that were Chimera would evolve into the Lupine race of Deimos, making Paundit a possible ancestor to the race.
